Three day IP Capacity building Programme on "Freedom to Operate"
Dr. R.K. Gupta heads the Intellectual Property Management Division of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,
Experience: He has received specialization in international patent examination, administration of industrial Property and IP management at European, Japanese and Swedish Patent Offices, USPTO and at WIPO, Geneva. He also received training on designing of innovation policies at the United Nations University, the Netherlands.
Participant those involved with patenting activities from industries ,universities and government laboratory.
Objective: The Module provides a thorough understanding of the Criterions of Patenting to determine whether an invention or idea is fit enough for a patent including Patenting decision in other jurisdiction
Objective: The Module provides an appreciation of the valuation methods used to estimate the economic value of the patent/technology
Competitive Technology Intelligence
Objective: The Module provides a tool based on which decisions related to undertaking R&D, it's enshrining, and assessing its value and even developing strategy related to it are made. This also covers the aspects of Patent Watch
Objective: The Module provides a broad understanding of the relationship between the R&D Strategy and the Overall Strategy of a technology driven Company and the process involved in their evolution and maintenance
Objective: This session will provide an overview about FTO especially from the context of Government laboratory and Private Institution regarding Freedom to Operate.
Objective: This session deals with understanding of Risk and Threats related to IP.
Determinants of FTO: Ph I
Objective: This module would provide insight regarding various aspects that are likely to impact the FTO with emphasis on claim construction norms and latest regulatory development including regulatory data Protection in different jurisdiction.
Determinants of FTO: Ph II
Objective: This module provides insight on Exemptions for Research the effect of Supplementary Protection Certificate and about how to recognise blocking patents and deal with them.
Interactive Workshop 1 : Licensing of IP and Freedom to Operate
Objective: This workshop provides hands on training on Freedom to Operate searches. Participants will be provided a case study which consist of multiple technologies and the process to obtain the Freedom to Operate for commercializing of the Product.
